WORK HISTORY:
Owner, Go Go Dragon, Plano, Texas Feb 2012 to May 2018
I started Go Go Dragon with the idea of bringing world-class graphics to market. There was an opportunity for high end “Fathead” style wall graphics in children’s décor. I created a business model that filled that need, and built a bridge between the customers and independent artists. Because of our emphasis on quality at all levels, customers were overwhelmingly pleased with our products and services. And artists on the other side, who are used to poor experiences commercializing their art, showed a dramatic shift from being reluctant to enthusiastic, because of our sales, professionalism, processes, and payments.
Key Achievements
Market analysis
Established relationships and negotiated contracts with remote employees, vendors, and artists
Designed and iteratively improved workflow using Kanban methodology
Expanded the business to market places such as Amazon.com, Etsy.com, Houzz.com, and Jet.com
Researched, installed, and configured end-to-end software stack (eCommerce, CRM, inventory management system, shipping) and hardware
Developed legal framework for royalty contracts
Managed marketing strategy and campaigns on PPC and social media (Facebook, Twitter)
Senior Product Manager, Delight Inc., Dallas, Texas, Feb 2009-Feb 2013
Delight Inc. is a fashion jewelry designer, manufacturer, and wholesaler. When I joined Delight Inc., their business model was focused on big box retailers such as Walmart and Hobby Lobby. I foresaw the risk associated with partnering with Big Box retailers, and I evangelized for transition from Brick and Mortar to eCommerce, an independent business model. I lead the evolution of the company starting with our own B2C website and then onto marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, resulting in, not only doubling the profit margin, but also secured the company’s future.
Key Achievements:
Developed an innovative automated process using Adobe software stack for product development
Overcame bottlenecks in workflow process, such as mass product upload onto marketplaces, by outsourcing development of automation software. By spending only $2000 we saved an estimated 400 hours/year
Oversaw “Just in Time” products: cutting product stock by 34%
Introduced and implemented Agile methodologies. Ex: Kanban
Ensured high employee satisfaction and engagement through weekly 1:1’s, open-door-policy
Coordinated cross communication and task dependency to ensure effective and efficient workflow
Some ideas that came from our team that were implemented: version control system for product images, and product upload files, and remote access software that enabled team members to have flex time and flex location
